In this year there was no Studio in Bianco made, due to the less favorable weather conditions (hence "Sol Minore"). In 2014 we are offered an intriguing blend of Friulano, Riesling and Sauvignon. Works like a charm. Refreshing, mediumplus body, developing real depth and character now. Love it.

Wow.... so light and ethereal... Yet brimming with fruit and spice, impressive length and tension, as well. What a wonderful composition this is... Was told that the blend mixes Riesling, Sauvignon and Friulano, but it has its own character and it really doesn't resemble any of these three grapes. Special stuff.

From Owner Thanks to all this we were able to keep the grapes on the plant much longer than we could otherwise, obtaining a good ripeness in a colder and moister climate. The last day of harvest in Vallade was the 30th of September. We obtained wines with rather nordic characteristics. Because of this, we decided to keep some small reserves trusting in a favourable evolution in the bottle. Studio di Bianco deserves a chapter of its own. We managed to produce a small selection obtained from the best vines in Ruttars. The wine seemed rather peculiar since the first taste and above all, still far from being ready for release, but we bottled it separately anyway, then left it in the cellar and waited. Now that the wine, with some evolution in the bottle, is more relaxed, its usual and unique mineral notes emerged very clearly and we decided to release it as a standalone wine calling it “Studio in SolMinore”, which is an Italian word play alluding to a musical composition, while the literal translation is “study in a lesser sun”. The wine is also being released with a special label, making it a truly unique offering. Collio Rosso 2014 presents rather nordic nuances too. It shows a colder tannin which is however neither green nor bitter. It could be compared to a Bordeax red.
