2+ months after the prior: This is beautifully in balance. Again, pleasant suggestions of forest and savory Pineneedle contribute to depth and character. Alas, our last — but for those with more, this should evolve very nicely for a few years.

3.5 years after the prior: This is developing beautifully. As expected, it’s very much in balance, with suggestions of forest pineneedles. Excellent acidity. Highly enjoyable over three nights.

I believe this is my first taste of one of Drew's "prestige" Pinots from the 2017 vintage. This also must be the best Pinot from Valenti that I've tried. I want to say maybe the '17 is ready, rounder, fuller, earlier so than maybe what we'll get from the '18. But that's not to say this is in any way hot or over extracted etc. It's that transparent, streamlined, mineral-driven Valenti terroir with loads of fullness this year and complexity in droves. There are so many subtle nuances to the nose and palate -- ever changing such that it would be tedious to try and record all the notes. The wine only improved on day 3 (tasted first on day-1). The more experience one has tasting these high-quality Pinot wines, the greater becomes one's appreciation for transparency and a sense of place in the wine. Here that elegancy and grounding are paramount. It's hard not to see this singing even purer notes in the years to come. Extremely enjoyable.
Savory, with restrained black fruit and excellent acidity. One can almost smell the quite nearby pine trees and Pacific. Very enjoyable over three nights.
