COVID-19 "Shelter-in-Place"; 3/17/2020-5/31/2020 (Redwood City, CA): What would have been Tax Day comes and goes with nary a mention of it. Instead I have streaming content and a blend of 48% Merlot, 20% Zinfandel, about 10% each of Grenache, Mourvedre and Cabernet Sauvignon, plus a bit of Syrah to round out this wacky mixture.
Aged in 25% new American and French oak barrels for 14 months. Each individual lot is barrel aged separately.
Medium/Dark ruby color. Aromas of black currant, sour cherry, pepper and dust. Medium-full body, silky texture, lush round tannins, red and black fruit. The finish is peppery, but a bit stalky. This is attractive and uncomplicated.
