Super nice folks, but can't justify the $125 price tag-not even close to ethereal that would warrant a triple digit expenditure. Same feeling for Daou's Soul of a Lion-overpriced, underdelivers. Desparada's D&R Sangiovese is a much better option-well priced and delivers the goods.

Solera concept is interesting in this concept and it comes off superbly. Is fresh and developed at the same time with both ripe red fruit and mushrooms, as well as rounded and sharper tannins. At winery with Janie Willheim and Toni.

First time visiting Desparada in Tin City, Paso Robles and it was a wonderful experience. Tasted a flight with other knowledgeable, wine enthusiast. Of the 6 wines in the flight, 3 I judged at 92+. Then our host brought us out something special, Dress Maker. She explained that it is made in solera method, blending the same wine made in different years. As a group, we tasted and collectively said wow!
First off, the wine comes in a very substantial bottle with a huge punt. The wine is dark garnet red. Beautiful, rich aromas of dark red fruit that is nicely matched in the mouth. Tannins and acid is matched and both show age that makes this wine ready to drink now. Well done Desparada!
