An elegant showing, tonight's Trailside Vineyard was just ... OK. Nothing special but then again following the lineup .... this was better and more special than the prior wines. Flavors in mouth were chocolate covered raisins and plum skin. Not fruit forward but more classic reserved and dusty mouthfeel wine.

Napa 2023: the quieter version; 2/6/2023-2/11/2023 (Napa/Sonoma California): Very beautiful and balanced in style. It’s quite young and will need some more time. Classic with darker fruits and a bit of maybe cocoa nibs and just a bit more earthy. Vineyard is in Rutherford and while I don’t get the dust per se I definitely get the more earth components.

Napa in the City: Masterclass & Lunch (The Pool/Grill): For as much as I really love the older versions of these you would think that I would be more connected to the current winery and yet I haven't (although the last time we were in Napa I did say I thought we needed to find our way here). This wine only cements that opinion. It's really nice. A bit more peppery in style. Very balanced, very fresh, very bright. Not a standard vinification (there's a lot of time in tanks at different points). The output really works though. Looking forward to getting to know more about these wines.

Napa in the City. 2019/2018 Napa Valley Masterclass with Antonio Galloni and top winemakers (The Pool restaurant, Manhattan): Leads with freshness and acidity. A red fruit profile with raspberry and red licorice. Expensive nose. Took a little while to open up and take on some weight. A more elegant wine.
