Frankly if this was served blind we would have said Loire red 5yrs old. Had the light, almost herby edge, soft and well made but lacking depth and proper structure. Still very pretty and a solid 89. Can see this being a guilty pleasure for many.

Edit - I think what I describe as "biscuit" is what others call "mouse" aka Brett. For some Brett is not a flaw. My view is the Brett level in this wine is a flaw.
I have tried and tried to enjoy this wine, unsuccessfully. Initially I thought the wine was flawed, but I write this note following my 3rd or 4th bottle and all of them (2018 vintage) have the same slight fizz (technical term “pettiance”) and overpowering yeast / biscuit flavours after about 1 hour of being open. Best drunk quickly, without decanting, I would say within 20 mins between 6 people you’d avoid the biscuit. Disappointed and I am not willing to accept that for 40GBP it’s a “natural wine” and therefore that I should accept this flavour. Funk off. 7/10 for first 20 mins. 4/10 thereafter.

First bottle from Dutraive which I found enjoyable; drank this at cellar temp; pure cool red fruits, hint of minerality and just a hint of spice; floral notes with air; palate shows ripe red fruits and floral notes with good concentration and depth. Good acidity. Would be better with food. Given some reviews I read I looked for faults and brett, but I didn't notice any in this bottle. Will reassess tomorrow.
Day 2 - nose is still relatively fruit forward with floral notes. Still no noticeable faults. The palate however is falling apart. Has a flabby feel today that is flatter, has a very odd fiinish that is unpleasant with a yeasty and medicinal taste. The aftertaste is downright unpleasant due to this. Not sure I will be looking for any more of this.
