  • brought to villaggio to celebrate our 35th anniversary and keith's 70th birthday. shared with keith, jean and pat. the wine was a hit, especially with jean. keith said, "this is not a port". i said, "i didn't claim it to be a port". keith correctly identified that it was a fruit wine. we debated blackberry vs. raspberry for awhile. interesting that the label indicates the fruit to be black raspberry. keith was surprised to learn that it was produced in new york state. this wine is pure bright fruit. very charming. went well with dessert including lemon sherbert, mango mousse and ice cream. however, i prefer alba because it offers additional flavor components that make it more complex and more interesting. this wine remains fresh and can probably rest comfortably in bottle for quite a long time.
