Very powerful and impressive, huge midpalate and long graceful finish. Color is heavily green tinged, this presents as a baby. Reduced aroma loaded with matchstick. I love this today but feel like it deserves to sleep, because there’s so much material here to evolve.

Open for a couple of hours. Pale yellow. Airy nose, lemons, flint, struck match and spice. Dry and chalky palate, with a core of lemon infused fruit. Lower acid with moderate levels of juiciness, this seems like it needs more time to loosen up.

Double birthday dinner with friends (Hawthorn): No need to decant this. Surprisingly plush from the get go, clearly burgundy but I'd place it as Meurseault rather than St Aubin (or indeed PYCM). Thoroughly enjoyable but I found I didn't particularly mind leaving my second glass for our non-red-wine-favouring friend.

Pale gold, green tints. Starting to open up. Still quite reductive. Plenty piercing citrus lemon & lime, great intensity. Serious extract. Long. Great elegance. Vegetal notes in the background. Drinking but no rush at all.

no notes, but remember this being simply 'OK'... not a rebuy
