Tasting it (very!) young. Freshly floral with cassis, blackberry, and complex oak barrel aromas. A fairly massive wine with fine acidity and substantial but velvety tannins. Develops into a wonderfully juicy lift in the mouth, with subtle notes of mint in the finish. Very good already now but has great potential to become a 92-95 wine after 10-15 years of cellaring.

Crisp, chewy, ripe, juicy, with tobacco leaf, cedar and red currants on the nose and classically styled palate. This is probably the finest Haut-Bages Monpelou ever produced.

This bottle is drinking well already. Lots of red berry jam. It was enjoyed by everyone on Xmas day 2024. Tom's gift.
