I believe Canoehead has perfectly expressed the character of this wine so I will not try and improve on those comments. I will say however that, for me, the vibrancy and sharpness were the essential benefits and I may have left this a bit too long as the noted granting and softening is taking place. Oh well, I need an excuse to drink something good on a more regular basis.

Brilliant dark garnet. Splash decanted and this was eager to please. Pronounced broad bouquet of advancing dark red fruits, roasted coffee, black olive, sage/mint and cedar. Sumptuous palate had all the fruit and savouries but also an elegant integration. All the structure components were dovetailed in harmony - acid, tannin, alcohol. Long finish. This followed an Arkenstone NVD ‘18 Cab and probably beat it by a nose on completeness and condition.

Medium dark red. Intense Bordeaux funk, cedar box, dried mushrooms and tons of cassis and blackberry fruit. Delicious dry balanced earthy cassis flavours and a long elegant balanced finish.
Not hot or ripe, just intense and delicious. Incredible QPR. Saint Estephe like.
