After tasting Drew's profound, austere, Anderson Valley syrahs, I was very curious to see what he would do with Paso Robles fruit. So when I had the opportunity to by this library wine, I jumped at the chance.
I love the nose on this wine. Candied fennel seeds, boysenberry, and tar. The palate is still alive, acids dancing across the tongue. with dried cherries and earth following. So glad that I made this purchase.
I would recommend that if you own this, you should drink it soon. It seemed to get more gentle and less striking as the evening wore on.

Made in a completely different style than most high end Paso Robles Syrahs. The fruit is sourced from a vineyard with very good pedigree. Tastes of blueberries, violets, leather and cherries. Excellent balance and acidity. Rich fruit forward finish with some elegance and depth. Very nice. A refreshing low (for Paso) 13.8% alcohol. Impressive.
