At peak, drink now. Decanted off sediment and back to bottle. Followed for an hour.
Notes are very similar to my prior notes. Nose shows beautiful dark fruit surrounded by elegant oak. Palate is full body with nice acid, sweet red cherry, oaky chocolate at the back end. Finish has a hint of the classic Rutherford dust, red currant, structure from acid, wrapped together by smooth oaky vanilla and chocolate. Tannins are very supple and well integrated, mostly an acid-driven wine at this stage. There is some RS that is noticeable to me, but in this style of wine it does work.
To me, the fruit of the palate and finish is showing slightly aged, dried character. It maintains freshness due to the acid, but the dusty Rutherford style here emphasizes the age. 8 years old and drinking in prime. While I do find this enjoyable, I do recognize that my palate is already shifting away from super-ripe wines. This is straddling super-ripe for me, and is firmly in the ripe spectrum.
Drink now and within the next 2 years. I see no reason to wait. 91-92.

Nose is hot but underneath there is some beautiful dark fruit (red currant, cassis) surrounded by elegant oak. Palate is full body, red currants, good acid, sweet dark cherry. Finish has a hint of the classic Rutherford dust, red currant, cassis, wrapped together by smooth oaky vanilla and chocolate.
Honestly this is fantastic. 7 years old and it has easily 10 years ahead. The heat on the nose did blow off with some time, so maybe an hour or two decant is in order.
Drink now or hold for 5 years.

At half way through the btl (2 hours after opening) I'm really impressed with the classic Rutherford style. Bought a 6 pack from Wine Access years ago and haven't touched it until now. Dense dark fruit, structured oak but at this age a soft violet finish over tight tannins that linger with a lively effect. 15.2% alc. I wish I would have tried one 2 yrs ago just to compare but I feel the wait is being rewarded. Drink now through the next year.

Not my style of wine. I’m more of a new-world and fruit forward style and this is certainly not it.
Nose is mostly cedar, oak, maybe cigar box, a hint of dark fruit. Medium full body, some dark red fruit on the palate. Fine grained tannins, smooth finish, but had a weird aftertaste I did not like at all. Maybe it was smoky? This was more sink than drink.
