  Balanced. Sweet. Silky and smooth. And really really young. WH Wines doesn't advertise the makeup of this wine, so I will stick my neck out there..... I would have to say, based on what I taste, that this one is 60% Cab, 15% Merlot, 10% Cab Franc, 9% Malbec and 6% Verdot. The primary notes here are black cherry pie, with other notes of herbal raspberry jam, red licorice, rhubarb, youthful plums and floral funk. Seems like Merlot and Rutherford Cabernet do the talking up front with the unmistakable Cab franc notes doing enough cheering from the peanut gallery. Starts out with a very rounded character. The middle of this wine goes a little more dusty and a little darker and 'weedier' yet still retaining that beautiful red fruit core. The PV, Merlot and Malbec absolutely shine here. The finish has some black pepper notes with a purple darker fruit, dusty tannic finish. Almost goes to a purple fruit density on the finish thatskes me think this has more Malbec than PV. I love, love, LOVE the 'Rutherford Red' cuvees that are made here and the 2016 and 17 Rutherford Reserves are on pointe. I keep waiting for them to announce that they are doing a limited bottling of Malbec because I'd be ALL OVER this. I tend to like the Bordeaux blends that are Malbec 'heavy' compared to the 1-2% that you typically see. What a nice wine. I have 3 more bottles of this and I would like to hold at least one until 2030. Fat chance of that happening!!!!
