Mid yellow. Ripe nose of stone fruit and citrus. Rounded fruit on the palate. Finishes quite clean, if a touch short. Quite decent if not super memorable, not sure why the last taster was so unimpressed.

My local wine merchant offered me this to try, having been thoroughly disappointed by it and by the fact that their importer had foisted it upon them. So? When Bollinger bought this underperforming Négociant there were hopes in spite of the subsequent lawsuits and so forth. The Burgundians love to screw the Champenois (viz Henriot and Bouchard Père et Fils) and have done so for centuries! I have seen it first hand, this distrust of the Burgundians towards the Champenois. Chanson above all have a portion of Clos des Mouches and have never produced an iconic wine in the way Drouhin has done. Colour: light gold, bright, clear. Nose: light, some good varietal notes, not the opulence that you would expect from this appellation. Taste: light body, rounded, very soft, good yeasty varietal notes, lacks structure and acidity, med finish, dry and with yeasty varietal notes. Overall, disappointing. Has Bollinger really not been able to pull this house up by the bootstraps. On this evidence, no! 13% ABV.

Melon and tropical fruit on the nose. Decent fruit and weight to the body, but a thin, lemony acidic short finish.

Nothing extraordinary here. Serviceable weeknight white.
