So much struck match and toast to the aroma, along with intense citrus fruits. The palate was compact and linear, with explosive fruit flavours and loads of chalky dry extract to the back end. Length was very good.

As is often the case with d’Auvenay whites, such intensity it feels as if 10 bottles of wine were reduced down to one. There’s no other white that quite gets this type of power and depth. If we have to nitpick it’s that producer signature overwhelms the terroir.
A treat but absolutely not worth the price on the secondary market - you can get a luxurious trip to France for the same price as this villages wine. Drinking a good Bourgogne in Paris or Beaune is far better and more memorable than drinking this wine at home.

The last wine of a night very much to be rembered, this is just incredible, orangepeel, vibrant and pronounced citrus-acidity, minerals galore, a very young and layered wine - still very young. #IB

Bottle 1749/3032. Flirtatious sensation of popcorn, fireworks, smoke, flint, grilled nuts and minerals. The sharp acidity brought out vibrancy and precision of its fruit. It had power but also light on its feet. It is still a few years away from its youth maturity which will probably put on more nuance. 95+ potential.

Fresh tons of sulfur matchsticks that blew off and revealed a gorgeous well balanced wine.
