Tart Red Fruit, lively bright & acidic, grippy tannins, long, long long dry finish. Subtle hints of green bell pepper, white pepper and nutmeg. Next time would probably decant for 1 hour, but this white is fantastic at the price with a strong QPR. Didn't pair with food but this would be good with a bright, fresh marinara or some Greek tomato based dishes.

The nose shows a mixture of both red and dark berries on the nose. Mediterranean scrub, pine, violets and a touch of smoke. Bone dry on the palate with really high acidity, medium(+) body and very fine tannins. Quite fruit-driven on the palate with tart plum and wild raspberry. Good intensity and length especially considering its price point. Maybe not as exciting and the Naturalmente bottling from Caruso & Minini but still a solid Perricone.

From the hills around Palermo. Aged in used French oak barrels. Dark color. Quite aromatic. A ripe fruity wine. Dark berries and plum. Low acid. Medium-light bodied. Soft structure. It doesn’t quite match the descriptions I’ve read about this grape. It’s typically more acidic and tannic. However, this particular version is a great wine for those who like ripe fruity wines but for everyday immediate drinking.

Retail $20. 100% Perricone. I have to admit that I do not drink a ton of Perricone, but I have the viable excuse that it is fairly difficult to find in these Disjointed States, which is too bad. While there are other Sicilian reds that I would likely opt for first, this is still a stellar choice for pizza/pasta night. Dark, fruity, spicy, and full of body, this wine is a great option for just about any scenario. Except bungee jumping. That would be bad. thedrunkencyclist.com

Tenuta Regaleali Tasting: Light purple color. Aromas of juicy raspberries and sweet plums, with black tea, rose petals, smoky earth and leather. Crisp and fresh on the palate, medium-bodied, with chewy tannins and a bright, crunchy feel. Red fruits, juicy and bright, with notes of roasted chestnut, black tea, leather and tar, with rose petals, too. Fun, accessible, grill-friendly stuff. Widely planted before phylloxera, the grape Perricone (or Guarnaccio) has been grown at this estate since the 1950s.
