Moderate plus intensity on the nose. Ripe golden apple, verging on tropical, floral and honeyed. Intense on the palate, with kumquat, gravel and lovely bitterness on the finish. This is a rich wine, but with a healthy dose of acid to keep it lively.

Deep gold in the glass. Nose of honey, banana, pineapple. Palate was rich, supple, honey, ripe pear, pineapple, still with a citrus tang and twist. Nice sustained mouthfeel. I still enjoyed the richness but felt this was possibly getting a bit old and woody so for me, time to drink up.

Pale gold in the glass. Nose of pear, lemon, biscuit. Taste of lemon with full, rich pineapple, banana and honey. Has a zesty burr at the end. Nice. Went well with chicken thighs, anchovy, rosemary and potatoes.

PnP, chilled, but better after 10 to 15 minutes of air. Solid lemon notes and minerality on the nose. These follow on to the medium bodied palate and are joined by very bright acidity. Better with food, but quite stark on its own. Should hold for several years.

Good, but I prefer the Pieropan Calvarino.
