Starting to cast a light sediment. Medium color, touch of maturity. Nose is prunes, cherries, cloves, and dirt. Quite perfumed and rich for a young wine. Wow. This is quite a stellar pinot, especially for the asking price. Really rich for a village level wine with mature spice on the back palate. Reminds me more of a Nuits St. George or a Gevrey-Chambertin with its earthy spice. Delicious now but this is definitely at peak and with older flavors in the background. Drink now and possibly into next year. Hmmm... maybe I’ll save a bottle for Thanksgiving? ;-) Tasted again in November and second bottle was pretty devoid of fruit.
