Opened with a big, complex aroma with some funk and complexity. After a 2 hour slow ox it had settled down somewhat. By 4 hours it was declining so I suspect it was peaking or near a short term peak. I can see how some tasters would struggle with this wine and it’s reduced ripeness, lower intervention character but for me that allows its complexity to shine. And for it to have both old and new world character.

Medium ruby color with extensive clearing at rim Medium plus aromas of crispy red fruit with prolific bell pepper/ fresh herbs pyrizinic aromas - mouth watering Medium bodied with palate of red cherries/ bitter herbs and green stemmy notes Medium plus acidity and medium tannins with medium alcohol Moderate length led by acid and green notes This is my type of CF - very Loire-like style and really great with food Obviously cooler climate vineyard (Sonoma Coast) with whole bunch fermentation Seems to be a quite polarizing wine based on previous CT notes, possibly due to the fact that this is definitely not a typical CA Cab Franc? Drink now

An exercise of poorly managed pyrazines, this is green and bitter. I tried it from barrel in 2019 and found it very promising then. Unfortunately it's gone in the wrong direction. Hopefully my other bottle will be better.

Too many green notes. Very dry tart finish.
