Show wines decision making (My place, Kent Street): From Coravin. Sweet spice, black hued fruit, berries over plums. Juicy and more savoury on the palate, a little almost reductive quality to the black fruits, the tannins are persistent, savoury and talc textured. Okay.

tasted on bottling. slight sulphur prickle, red cherry and blackberry, sweet spice and a little black pepper on the nose. with time a little meat and cedar joins. Juicy acidity almost tending to sour, the fruit arrives with some subdued jubey companions hotly pursued by a tsunami of talc textured tannins that dry out the mid palate in a most pleasing manner though, unfortunately, leaving little except some peppery alcohol warmth.

Barrel Sample. Red cherry, slight toast, slightly reductive but also smells a little wet. On the palate it's textured; more dense than the Hunter wine. The tannins are more grainy here and drying. Similar red cherry fruit on the palate.

even with a splash decant this was still too young - still showing as reductive/reticent and closed. still a bit nasty, broody.
