Pretty, lean, red fruit character - ripe, sweet, raspberry jam, very fresh and vibrant, plenty of complexity on a long, elegant finish. 15% abv isn't prominent, feels like an enhanced Valpolicella rather than a baby Amarone.

The wine had lovely fruit..probably best described as sour cherries as there was a slight tartness to the wine. It was balanced with a lovely nose and a rich character to the palate. The wine had a lingering finish.I’m extremely sensitive to volatility and I detected a very slight volatility but I’m not sure others would notice it. Overall I really enjoyed the wine. It’s alcohol level at 15 was not noticeable or excessive

Moving further east from Lake Garda and Bardolino into the depths of Valpolicella. This legendary estate dates back to 1924. Basalt and limestone soil sit beneath these vines, which are trained on Pergola Veronese trellises that create canopies over the walkways. 2014 and there’s a slight tawniness to the edges. 50/50 blend of fresh and dried grapes. Refermented on the lees of the Amarone (Ripasso). Some floral aromas, beautiful rich plum and rife earthy tones including balsamic, forest floor and dried cedar. Grippy tannins and a lasting finish.
