Dark, opaque violet color; dust and tobacco on the nose; surprisingly smooth, berry-driven, with smoky and cigar-box notes throughout; no distracting herbaceousness nor a thin texture; tannings are not exactly silky, but are well integrated and with about an hour of air, smooth out nicely to give the wine a basic structure. Excellent QPR and a great harbinger of things to come from 2005 Bordeaux!

I saw this at my local wine store- being the first and only 2005 Bordeaux on the shelf, I decided to buy one. Well, I popped and poured. Faint nosed of dark berries, tobacco and cedar. Stuffed with very ripe dark fruits on the palate and framed in firm bold tannins- but in superb balance!. Hardly any finish. But, this thing is not even a classified growth!!. For $10, this is by far the cheapest Bordeaux I've enjoyed since the late 1980s. Fantastic stuff. Wife takes a sip and says "hope you bought the 05 Bordeaux". Well, 2005s, here I come.

This was a great QPR. Is drinking really good right now. Might have given it 90 but I knew that it is a $10 bottle.

Limp and flaccid. Past its time.

13.5% alc. 30 min decanting. Mild nose of cedar with a moderate mildpalate of dark berries. A good table wine in my opinion. Not impressive though.
