Southern Rhône trip with Rainer. Tasted at the Domaine. Vin de France; the vintage was not indicated on the label, but we were assured that it is 2018. One of a few Vin de France we came across on this trip to Châteauneuf-du-Pape, e.g. at Domaine La Barroche and at Roger Sabon. Wineries seemed to be actively using the flexibility offered by the generic classification, naturally mostly for their entry-level wines. A blend of Grenache and Cinsault. €6,50. 14% ABV.
Mid salmon colour. Medium-bodied and dry, with nice red fruit flavours and pleasant herbal notes. Not much length, but very pleasant. Very good in the context of its price.
