Light pale salmon color, light sandalwood, very elegant, slight reduction noted, tangy minerally yeasty finish. Very high quality. DD Rose Champagnes blind at Grand Harbor.

Q2 2022 Wine Club: Grower Champagne (The Apt): Wine #3: The only rose of the line-up which surprised me a bit but so it goes. This was nice, easy drinking, a bit closed down. It's more slightly savory style. If there's red fruits they're almost a hint unripe. Wine though is quite bright. (7 pennies)

Gilbert Garza and Tara of Suze in Dallas had this with us at 3 Star Single Thread in Healdsburg Ca when I asked Alex, the sommelier (who is holding the bottle we attached), to bring us something different and special. It was the best rose champagne I have ever had…with layers upon layers of depth that all were distinct and plentiful, delivered in a mildly and delightful creamy way with the bubbles tiny and effervescent. The next night we had the Dom 04 rose at The Farmhouse, a one star gem that personifies quality and taste in a country setting in Forestville Ca, where we had a stunning meal with rabbit and scallops. The Dom was great, but we all were left wanting the Gonnet. We ordered some from Liz at The Sage Society in La, who told us she initially had poured it before a Chateau Rayas vertical tasting. Liz said the Gonnet was the best wine that was tasted that evening, the best rose champagne she had had in 5 years.

I thought this was fantastic and better than the 02 Dom Rose it was paired with.
