This drank like the love child of a CA Sauv. Blanc and a Chablis. Bright lemon and lime citrus, with light tropical notes, more like underripe mango, runs headlong into a giant mineral streak. Wet stone and oyster shell really dominated the flavor profile, which was really unlike previous vintages that I've had. Probably on the lower side of medium+ in both body and acidity, as well as intensity on the nose and general flavor. Solid wine and I think the strong mineral notes add a touch of uniqueness, but this is still more workman-like than remarkable.

Vermentino Blind Tasting in Dry Creek Valley: Smells and tastes like cider. Bruised apple, unbalanced and thin. I still haven't figured out what the "cider flaw" is. I've tasted it in all kinds of wines from all kinds of places. No one else at the tasting called cider so maybe I'm just biased from all my years in the West Country, but there is something very wrong with this bottle of wine. And if there isn't, it's just bad.

Fresh tasting. Lemon, lime, green apples, and geraniums.
