  • Trifecta

For those of you that aren’t of the betting mindset (yours truly included in that), the definition of the term in the title of this post is: “a bet in which the person betting forecasts the first three finishers in a race in the correct order or a run of three wins or grand events.” I had to look that up just to make sure I was accurate.

Why that is important is that it revolves around 3 wines that I had discovered and now have reviewed. More importantly, is that all three wines were Number One in their own right.

Back on April 19th, I wrote about the Sinegal “Details” Cabernet (their Sonoma-based Cab), then on June 21st, I had the privilege of drinking their luxurious Napa Valley Cabernet, and today I am reviewing the:

Sinegal Sauvignon Blanc Napa Valley 2018

I continue to be amazed at the quality of Sinegal’s wines. The two previous wines and now the Napa Sauv Blanc continue to impress. A blend of 97% Sauvignon Blanc (40% Sauvignon Musqué Clone) and 3% Semillon that is aged for 10 months in 33% new French Oak barrels using their Certified Organically grown grapes is a wine that is looking to be more than the sum of its parts.

Beginning with a lush palate that starts with citrus and a touch of melon, the acidity of the wine works its way through the wine, elevating it to a wine of true distinction. A vein of creaminess encompassed by those oak nuances places the wine firmly upon your palate allowing the wine to please your taste buds. This is pure joy for Sauv Blanc lovers. A pair of 93-point reviews confirm my belief that this is a wine for the ages.

Regardless of vintage, I urge you to seek out Sinegal wines, whether red or white, so you too can experience the wines of this prolific winery, I am certain you won’t regret it. Maybe you’ll even find your own trifecta with these or other wines they produce.

    Cheers
