Not decanted, consumed over ~1 hour. I really enjoyed this. Firm, dark fruit with peppery spice which played well with a variety of small dishes. Lovely balance with a bit of grip to it (which I like). The nose seemed a bit shut down, though, making me think that this should be given a year or two. I think it has the goods to drink well for a few more years, at least.

Impressive. Juicy, with structure... beautiful nose of red berries, nicely balanced wine. Tangy, pleasing tannins. Not a ton of backbone, but very enjoyable now. Honestly, the best sub-$20 red burgundy I've had. Definitely buying more. If this is an indication of what 2005 burgundies are like, I'm going to be very happy.

Pretty impressive stuffing here at its price point. The palate offers a mix of young grapiness and deeper black fruit, but I especially like the structure and mouthfeel -- it's very grippy with some nicely rustic tannin that tickles the palate like a wool sweater that's a little itchy.

A nice Villages level burg. Had just a taste, but bought a bottle so I will give fuller notes when I open the full bottle.
