let age...late release as it is. first day was disjointed...came together overnight (375 put off in fridge vacuum sealed)....next day integrated cassis, blueberries, spice, hint of chocolate.

PNP and paired with steak. Dark purple color. On nose, oak chips, purple fruit (plum) and some chemical note that I do not like. On palate, good palate feel with medium body/ tannins and medium+ acidity. I also think there is higher than normal residual sugar. Not a re-buy despite the price point - the weird chemical smell on nose made this hard to enjoy. No idea how this got the professional rating it got. 87+
If you like Monastrell, try the Clio from the same region as this wine (Jumillia) which is a phenomenal wine for $30 to $40. That is a 93 point wine.

Plum/raisin taste, but somewhat monotone in flavor compared to Jamilla Gil’s we tasted earlier

Big dark fruit and bright flavor with lots of fleshy mouth filling body. Mildly tanic. Quite enjoyable with a chorizo sausage risotto.
