(Esterlina Merlot) Bright, fairly opaque ruby color, fading slightly toward the rim. This wine has aromas of strawberry and plum fruit, carrot peel, beet greens, dandelion greens, and fresh dill. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and soft, with opulent fruit—predominantly Bing cherry—along with maple-molasses oak notes and an undercurrent of that cool-climate herbaceousness. Oak tannins are beautifully integrated, and the finish is long. Winery Spotlight: Domaine Marcel Deiss
