Obviously silly young for a Jamet but the bottle was opened and with tons of air it was enjoyable if still quite primary. Medium-to-full bodied with good depth of dark berry fruit and the classic fine, silky texture of Jamet is quite apparent. Some lovely CR flavors emerge late with notes of campfire embers and slate minerals. I see no reason why this won't become an excellent vintage for this seductive, Burgundian Cote Rotie in proper time. 92+

Tellement jeune, mais tellement bon. Gros fruit noir, sanguin, violette. Certainement un infanticide, mais un plaisir immediat certes. La prochaine dans 10 ans

Very ripe profile, certainly into the blue fruit range, but also full of lovely smokey, meaty nuances. Lots of very fine tannin, lots of palate material. Very young of course. Lacks length though. Delicious but not profound.

Decanted and maybe shouldn’t have. I thought this was a bit coiled up tonight, and kept making mental comparisons to a 2016 that really floored me recently. Here, the 18 was firm, with a dark core of blackberry, wisps of smoke and purple florals but with the volume turned down. I didn’t get the layers or exoticism in this vintage. A delicious wine but not a great Jamet.

Young? Sure but already so much character. Nose came out with some time. Slightly more alcohol than I would have liked but carries it so delicately.
