  • Nearly perfect bottle: fill level into neck, fairly short cork but in excellent condition. Not decanted based on previous experience with this estate and vintage.
Amazing hue for a 53 year old Cabernet Sauvignon with very little browning; looked more like a 10 year old Cab.
Classic nose with cedar, minty elements, quite restrained but classy.
Classically proportioned wine with 12 % alc which in a blind tasting would undoubtedly have been placed on the other side of the Atlantic.
Clearly not the ripest of vintages but brilliant winemaking and understanding of what fine wine is supposed to be...
I will drink remaining bottles over the next 3-5 years.
