  • When initially opened this came across as a soft wine that still had some rough tannins to integrate, and I hoped it would add some weight.

An hour later this has integrated, but that's about it. I'd never take this to be mountain fruit, and while it resembles merlot more than cab, it could just be their wood program, which I can't figure out from Conn Creek's website.

Red fruit, strawberry, plum; after 2 hrs the faintest tannins are evident back palate, but I'd guess this is 15 years old, not 7 It's fine unremarkable, and probably better suited for seafood than beef. Not worth the $75 paid; drink up.
