  • Interesting blend of 70% old-vine Mencía and 30% Palomino. Essentially a natural Spanish Côte-Rôtie. The grapes are co-fermented with wild yeasts, aged 12 months in old French barriques, and bottled without fining, filtration, or added SO2. Med to med (+) intensity black fruit, red fruit, with some VA and Brett. Dry, with med (+) acidity, med tannins and med (+) alcohol (13.5%). Med to med (+) body, flavor intensity and length. Meh. Drink in the near term, not likely to improve with further aging.
