  • Really solid and while exactly mature on many points, has a maturity to the vibe that worked. Quince and lemon candies nose. A little wax. Big body that overwhelms the acidity in spots. Umami and lithium grease on the palate followed by pomelo and more quince textured fruit. Picks up some honey and fennel polllen on the edges but finishes hard on that buff body.

  • From 75cl, good cork, opened 90 minutes. Yet another Grünhaus enigma. Big-bodied, emollient texture, quite sweet, racy acidity. Some bitterness mixed in with all the boiled sweet "fruitiness" towards the finish. "Lemon sherbet" (DonDon's CT TN of 05.04.2020) is horribly accurate. Just possibly this is simply 10 years too young, in which case the kaleidoscopic, yearly transformations in those wines in the MG range I have tried to follow (despite all the name changes) from year to year may conceivably resolve, and allow these wines to reflect "terroir" and vintage characteristics. Or: current management has taken one of the most reliable stalwarts of consistently exciting, challenging dry Riesling and turned it into an inconsisent, unpredictable, trend-led, often sugary, middle-of-the-road product aimed at... whom exactly? Not me, alas. 88–89P(?)

  • Pale lemon green in the glass. Beautiful, expressive aromas of lime pie, lime juice, ripe peach & nectarine, some jasmine and mango peel. Notes follow on the palate, which is marked by striking acidity, low alcohol and a looong finish. Great wine!

  • Medium nose intensity with notes of flint, mineral, petrol. High acidity

  • Wonderful nose petrol, honey and striking ripe and sweet apricot/lychee note.

Palate of lemon with a modest yet proportional acidity balanced with some ripe fruit and honey notes giving this a hint of sweetness despite being a dry GG. Decent end developing to honey and apricot/pineapple finish.
