I wan't expecting much, having been disappointed in it in the past by earlier bottles. However, I found this quite nice tonight. nose: black cherry, dust palate:black cherry, blackberry, minerals, hints of salinity, though they come and go. THe fruit has opened up, and is as generous as it's going to get, I think. Tannin is in a good place - drying on the edges of the mouth, but not puckering. A perfect weeknight bordeaux.

Tasted Blind. Nose: Not too impressive - blackberry, some raspberry....nothing very exciting. Palte: not a lot of depth or structure, but some sour cherries, good acidity and a long finish. Not sure where this is going....but right now it's OK. Maybe some secondary flavors will emerge with time - hope so, since I have 2 more.

The nose had a bit of a yeasty smell to it. Typical dark fruits and oak on the palate. Very firm tannins. A very solid wine, but not exceptional at this point. Perhaps in a few more years this will mature nicely.

Decanted for 2-3 hours prior to drinking; might have been better with 4-5 hours though. "Classic" Old World style. Very smooth. Some fruit, especially on the nose, but more earthy and vegetal overall. Elegant by itself, but would probably be better with food. Good value. 88-89.
