Dusty cherry, vanilla, old tea, dry roses, musky banana and a slight beefy note on the generous nose. Thin, leathery, and distinctly something like rusted iron or even copper overlays the tart red fruit. Plenty of acid keeping this alive but its better days have passed.

Lots of extra points simply for still being alive. Nicely aged wine, with abundant black tea notes. Definitely tired, but still kicking and quite interesting.

At Roberson's Old Rioja Night. Nice, if still a bit too much wood on the finish.

Old Rioja - A Walkabout Tasting (Roberson Wine): Clear and bright. Fruit and some blood notes. Soft, fruity and acidic. Good but not great.
