Opened with no decant on the heels of a bottle of 2019 Seven Apart Expedition. The Expedition was aromatic and delicious though more structured, tannic and needed more air time than I gave it. The BV GC was full bodied as well, but smoother, somewhat less structured with delicious black and red fruit, plum and chocolate notes. Both wines had similar fruit (both from Ed's former Atlas Peak vineyard?), full bodied with long finishes. Loved both wines but the BV wins for value. Both paired well with beef, onion and green pepper grilled skewers.

Bought from the winery at half price a year ago. Slow ox for two hours. Deep dark color, blue and black fruits. A bit closed, muted at this stage. Lacked acidity, which made it a bit dull. Maybe this had just shut down, or an off bottle, but I have enjoyed the Reserve more.

Wow. Both the same and different from two years ago! Amazing floral aromas, bright, fresh and lively! Color is deep dark red in the glass, nearly black. Inky. Dark black fruit, blackberry and cassis. Tannins are grippy with some edges but rounded in the finish. Acidity is bright and lively. Fantastic.

One of our all time favorites. Perfect with a medium rare bone in ribeye.

Needs an hour plus just to open up. Really a nice wine. Smooth.
