An unusual take on Sauvignon Blanc.... On nose: notes of warm river stones, minerals, and a ghost of elder flower. On palate: all above notes, as well as chamomile, nettles, lemon zest, and fennel....all displayed on a fullish medium body, backed by clean acidity , with a faintly chalk like finish, after a 2 hour decant. Great oyster wine, for Autumn ....also plays well with Dover sole and red snapper....but not richer oily fish. May age well for a few more years.

Thanksgiving week in Piemonte; 11/22/2019-11/30/2019 (Milan, Barolo, Alba, Barbaresco): Tasted at the winery. Was surprised to find Sauv Blanc in Piemonte - I think this is the only one we came across during our trip. Not generally a big fan of the variety. This one was less of the tropical notes (which I really don't care for) and more in a lean mineral style. Clean and light.

Piedmont II - better and learnings; 11/23/2019-11/29/2019 (Barolo, Alba, others): Very fresh and easy and drinkable. It's balanced. More honey. Maybe a bit of mineral. Decent body, but I wouldn't say very heavy (not for example at the level of a white rhone). Good acidity. Drinking easily.
