Ripe and round; fruit forward. Sweet purple nose. Aromas of blueberries, violets, cooked strawberries, pepper, and game. Strong, oversized tannins. (My puckered gums totally disagree with the WA tasting note of "soft, ephemeral tannins"). Would benefit from 2 more years of bottle aging.
Not bad, but not my style. Too Cotes du Rhone in the flavor profile.

WSET Languedoc Tasting (WSET, London, U.K.): 45% Syrah, 45% Grenache and 10% Cinsault. Medium(+) ruby. Aromas of red fruit, leather lactic acid(?). Dry-off-dry, medium(+) acidity, medium(+) tannin, alcohol and body. Palate of red fruit, pepper, licorice, meat notes, leather. Structure displays a mid-palate weakness (‘hole’). Balanced, smooth, good length with dry., slightly bitter and warm finish. Food wine.
