Opened by Mark. Not decanted but opened 3 hours before drinking. Garnet color. Notes of chocolate, earth, bitter herbs and spices. Primary earlier in the night and opened more with time. I think this has already hit its peak but was still drinking well. Structured tannins. 89-90 points.

Cooked plums and figs show initially on the nose. Berries, herbs, and tea mix with faint notes of stone and vanilla, while a spin in the glass reveals something reminiscent of chocolate drizzled oatmeal raisin cookies.
Showing very nice depth and richness on the palate, this wine is round and plump with subtle tannins. Clear tones of oatmeal raisin cookies, vanilla, and mixed berry reduction come together to create a complex, rich, and balanced wine.

Seemed a tad over the hill to me. Also seemed out of balance and a little hot.

Good concentration of flavor with a bit of a vegetal, almost peppery edge. However, too much vanillin oak for my taste. My #2 wine of the tasting.

Carmel on the nose, light fruit flavor profile with a acidic hot finish. Came off a bit green. Too off balance for me.
