Quite a lot of Chianti (Must & Lees, Warren Street): Small red berries, dark cherry, vanilla. Concentrated and compact on the palate, finishes short. Tasty but simple. Not a producer I really get on with at this level.

Samples from Bill #9/10/11; 11/23/2023-11/25/2023: Tobacco and cedar, blackberry with a touch of a herbal note in the background. Palate is nicely structured, has mid-weight savoury fruit with a nicely fresh acid profile. Good!

Really hits my sweet spot. Cherry, black pepper, game, oregano. Full bodied, yet finely textured, has a 'dusty' quality with a solid core of dark fruit and anise. Great acidic lift. While the alcohol is a bit warm at times, unfolds beautifully over the palate into a dry, long finish with a fine tannic grip. Oak is integrated.
Checks the 'food wine' box for a Chianti, but adds several more layers. A complete wine. Drinking well now, though should maintain at this level comfortably for several years. Could get interesting going beyond 2026, though I like the profile at present.

Cherry, bright fruit, herbal. Oolong tea perhaps too. Concentrated and savoury in the mouth. Lovely crunchy tangy finish. Excellent.

Medium body, quite high acidity with a silky texture, red fruit and a bit of spice. Very typical with a long finish
