  • Medium Ruby colour. The nose is quite jammy and spicy with some developed elements; cherry jam, dark plums, vanilla, figs and cloves. Taste is even more jammy, adding blackberries, paprika spice and trace of peppercorn. Full body, medium-high but well rounded tannins, high acid, decent length. Will keep good for a good amount of years, not sure if it'll develop more. Will keep another bottle in the cellar until 2026 just to sate my curiosity.

  • {screwcap, 14%} Solid Deep garnet. Not aging. Youthful palate of white pepper and spice, tart but generous cherry fruit. Either cool climate Syrah or the influence of the xinomavro. Little oak evident. Low level dusty tannins, medium acidity, medium weight thanks to the concentration. Slightly inky, black-tinged flavours, but also with a coolish impression, and an even but fairly fast-fading finish that just emphasis the ultimate lack of depth. On the other hand, it’s a Greek red for $25 all this way across the world, and it does has a distinctive quality about it. Drink before it’s ten years old, no worries.

  • Tricky one. A 50-50 Xinomavro & Syrah blend, to introduce outsiders to Xino. A well crafted, new age wine, with loads of secondary & tertiary (excessive IMHO) elements. Definitely easy to drink & not as acidic as I expected it. It needed about 30' to reach peak. Nose full of red & blue fruit, oak, vanilla & maybe some clove. With time cheese & yeast notes appear. Full body, live tannins, intense but tamed acidity, in balance. Shortcomings, not a true Xino & lack of character. Could find similar wines in any country. Xinomavro should a bit more pronounced in my view. Pleasant med. finish.

  • Peppery extra virgin olive oil on the nose. Anise, rubard and plum on the palate. Bay leaf and tarragon. Soft and silky with a long volacanic finish.
