This wine is very honestly made with dark cherry and a little earthiness on the nose and the palate. The tannins are fully resolved and the acidity is evident but not distracting. All of this leads to a short finish, but this is a very enjoyable every day drinking wine that does not disappoint.

After the WSJ tasting notes on Nero d'avola and Dorothy & John recommmendation to just try some - or any of this sicilian grape - I recalled (after using cellartracker!) that I had this bottle of 100% nero d'avola from the Oriel Club.
I must say that is would be the perfect house wine. It neither offends nor lends to a remarkable wine experience. It would be the perfect "pizza" wine if it weren't pricier than I'd be willing to pay for house wine.
In Glass: Bright red Nose: cherry and red berries Palate: Soft tannins - almost not present with cherry and red berry taste. No real finish.
Tasted like it could have come out of a glass carafe at a little italian cafe with a red check tablecloth.
