  • Pale yellow. Sweet luscious pineapple nose. Needs food and cheese to round out the sappy/bitter finish. A disguised Gruener Veltliner.

But wait: This is Jacquere from Apres Mont, the reclusive mountain grape. So once back at base camp, put down the ice axe and pick up the fondue fork. At 12 U.S.D. there is much to like.

  • Medium gold in color, this wine reveals vivid aromas of lemongrass, citrus and ripe banana on the nose. The mouth feel is very full-bodied, reminiscent of Chardonnay and brings bright, copious levels of acidity and a defined mineral element. The finish is firm with the citrus and tropical fruits in excellent integration with the acidity.

Purchased for $12US, this was a delicious offering and an outstanding qpr. This was my first tasting of Altesse grape and it will definitely be on my repeat list. This is a winner.
