Community Tasting Notes (3) Avg Score: 89.7 points

  • Syrah grapes sourced from the upper Galilee region, aged for 12 months in oak, 14.5% ABV, not mevushal. Appearance was deep red, with a black core and ruby/royal rim, heavy viscosity. Nose was medium intensity, a touch ripe, black currant, sugar plum, boysenberry, black licorice, potpourri, eucalyptus, leather, cigar box, and baking spices. On the palate it is big, fruit forward, and tannic with low acidity. Blackberry, black cherry, baking chocolate, roasted coffee, cedar, and cloves. The finish was medium long, but was pushed and a bit cloying and somewhat disjointed. Lacked some complexity and fell off after a day of drinking. An okay wine from a tough vintage, but I would drink up now. 89.

  • Medium to full body. Smooth and low tanines. Wonderful amazing aroma of flowers, chocolate, vanilla, oak. The aroma is intense and really really wawoooooo.... Low acidity. Ready to drink and very enjoyable despite its young age. Very nice long ending. All in all - great wine.

  • Popped and poured. Sweet aroma of boysenberry. Clean flavors of sweet cherry and baked apple. Light licorice in the finish. Pleasant, simple, solid backbone, good staying power. Decent, but pricey.
