  Decanteds two hours. Medium ruby with brick colored edges. Medium intensity, aromas of violets, blackberry, black, plum, cedar, tobacco, bloody meat, and Asian spice. The black plum predominates as far as aromas go. This wine has medium plus tannins and body with high alcohol and medium acidity. This wine has medium intensity, flavors of violets, black, plum, cedar, tobacco, tar, nutmeg, and earth. The tertiary flavors are much more pronounced than when I drank this wine a couple of years ago. This is a very good wine that should be drunk now it should last to 2030. The QPR on this wine is through the roof as I only played $14 for this. What stands out for me is the intensity of the black plum flavors as well as the complexity of the six year-old wine

  Tasted after a two hour decant.
  Dark ruby in colour with aromas of sweet black fruit & earthy forest floor.
  On the palate, full bodied juicy & tart black fruit, boysenberry/cassis, chocolate, well integrated oak, high acidity, high soft tannins with a long finish to sour berries & black pepper. Not particularly complex, but excellent wine for this price point!

  A good wine year in year out. Over generous fruit and a touch hot, but one of the basement staples to pop, pour and enjoy instead of a zin.
