  • What a wonderful way to send off 2014. Plum, blueberries, dark cherry, five spice and star anise. The tannin was soft and sweet and well integrated. Best to drink within the next 3 years with careful cellaring.

  • Beautiful Australian Shiraz. Did not go flat despite opened bottle for hours. Drank it through the evening with Willy and Willy's friend (cannot recall his name!). The nose and palate kept evolving throughout the night. Finally it became some thing fragrant, very pleasant and not at all overpowering. Smacks of class.

  • undecanted. drank over 4hrs. first nose, it punches me in the face. bold. fruity. spicy. but this is not the typical australian fruit bomb. when opened and properly settled down, the nose is that of castor sugar. nicely mellow, smooth and not disgustingly sweet. palate dosent fail from expectations. nice oak. quite some heat at back of throat, but ok after a while. 15% alcohol. the '03 can be drunk better a few more years later. drank this along with a '01 ch pouget (margaux) & '99 ch soutard. but the '03 saltram out classed them. however, i find aussie wines getting increasingly expensive. @ S$128, i probarly can find cheaper and nicer wines.

  • Finished of the 1st bottle and drank a 2nd over three days. Half a bottle left open in a decanter had softened and gone a little flat but certainly wasn't oxidised. most of 2nd bottle was left in the bottle and had a bit of a bite to it on day 2 and 3. More of the fruit cam through but this is got years ahead of it. Don't touch for 4 or 5 years. Not sure if I'll get more, will see.

  • Am not sure if this had a bit of TCA when opened. The corked did and although not on the nose it seemed to be on the palate. Saying that letting breath did help (I think). This has a dry spice nose and some blackberry brambles. The palate is chewy and in need of some fruit and balance. Have decanted so hopefully it will come round.
