Could have fooled me for Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Man, this has a wonderful nose of grenache, dark fruited profile, impressive depth and concentration, and lots of spice (no pepper for me). Some grip, too. This should improve.

79% Grenache, 15% Syrah & 6% Mourvèdre; Soils are mostly calcaire and mixed clay, sand with small polished riverbed stones; the Grenache is vinified and aged in cuve while the Mourvèdre and Syrah are aged in foudré. Bright dark fruits, blackberry and cherry liqueur, dried herbs and grilled meat aromas in the nose; round and rich with great attack and balance on the palate, loads of blackberry and cherries with silky tannins; very long finish that is focused on garrigue and minerality.

They apparently just sitting on a super old vine plot of Gigondas. Spice and fruit and loads of power. That is great drinking. And darn that is really good. Darn that is really good.
