Dark and opaque in the glass. Left for a couple of hours to open and the fragrance on the nose was superb. Soft dark fruit on the palate with spice and berry acidity. Smooth, rich, and attractive. I have only met Petit Verdot previously as a minor component of Bordeaux from the Medoc and from some New World Bordeaux blends so this is a new combination to me. I think it should be Shiraz/Petit Verdot but I don’t know the proportions of the two grapes so this is just an opinion. Nevertheless, the PV really adds something. Unexpectedly enjoyable. 88-89

Dark fruits and dark herbals, thyme and some spices, sweet core, medium bodied, m/m- tannins, not too much depth in 13% alc, but I really enjoy the broadness of many dark flavours, very accessible, enjoy immediately when open. A nice table with nice price (NZ$10)
Ap 5/5, Ar 12/15, Palate 16/20, Overall 1+3/10 Total 87+/100

Hits most of the right areas for but also lands one on the mid-wicket crack that sends it skywards. Pleasant herbal tonic that is marred by a warm, unrefined medicinal jamminess. Decent finish. Low alcohol but feels it should be higher.

Dark fruits and dark herbals, chalky tannins, sweet core with lacy black tea and mocha notes. Hearty warm in finish.
