baked pineapple, over ripe apple, lemon peel, lime, evolved honey color and some honey flavors, solid stuff, drinking above its humble price point...verdejo is the grape and theres not a million acres of this stuff planted around the world either

4th Saturday Brown Bagger (Sue's): Double blind. Lovely fruit in the bouquet- mostly apple- but there's also a cottony element underneath. Medium-bodied with appropriate acidity; balanced. Orchard fruit turns slightly tropical as it warms and breathes in the glass. I often find a cotton element in chenin, but this clearly isn't chenin, and when that happens to me the wine often turns out to be grigio, so that's what I guessed. A decent wine, and my favorite of the blind warm ups, though that's a fairly low bar considering the group overall. It's nothing I will seek out, but I would not be offended if this were offered to me at a party or event of some sort.
